Today's game vs. the O's

The O's running out of pitchers was simply brilliant.? At least it wasn't as dumb as trading one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball for a mediocre right-handed reliever.? :plain

What trade are you talking about?

Denny Bautista for Jason Grimsley :plain

This is spring training. As soon as Mota starts to blow games in the regular season, I will be concerned. Otherwise, I am not going to worry about it.

Meet Antonio Alfonseca

He's proven before he can be a closer, but he just struggled because the Cubs suck.?

BTW I have 5000 posts now, can I have a cookie?

YOU SUPPOSED TO HAVE 5000 POSTS... you want a cookie for doing s*** you're SUPPOSED to do? (Can anyone name the stand up comic on this one? Obviously, I changed it a bit.)

Today's game was awful, Mota blew the game when Brian Roberts doubled off him.

Not good.

Mota better have it together by April 5th.

are you going by the box score? or did you see it?

721603

Saw it.

They showed the highlights on the local news.

so you didnt see the fact that Jim Goelz, a minor leaguer brought in during the rain delay tried a backhanded flip to Wilson Delgado at 2nd(with the runner going) a batter or two beforehand and making the inning longer than it should have been.

Luis gets the sure out at 1st, doesnt try and be the hero.

the inning was longer than it should have been because of #93 Goelz

Yeah, but the Marlins traded away Bautista too...and that was before it came out that he was two years older than he claimed, and before he had another minor league season where he couldn't find the strike zone.

The Marlins traded Bautista for Jeff Conine, who helped win a World Series. The Orioles traded Bautista for a piece of garbage. I can see the comparison, though.

The Mets traded Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano. That's surv'age right thurr.

*does urban rhythmic dance*

721682

Well, Zambrano helped the Mets make the playoffs. :mischief

But then again, what the heck did Grimsley help the orioles do? He's not even playing this year!!!!! :censored

Same here.

Same here also. I didnt feel safe last year when Mota was on the mound. If he keeps blowing games, Im going to be upset. I miss Benitez.

again, the inning was longer than it should have been because of a botched grounder

It doesn't matter, during the everyday grind throughout the entire season you can't expect to come into a game and have everything go perfectly. Errors happen and innings can sometimes be longer than they should have been, s*** happens and it's no excuse for giving up a huge hit after the fact.

Mota gave up a huge hit. Mota blew the game.

you know damn well Luis Castillo makes the sure out at first

obviously you didnt see the play so you dont know how badly Goelz messed up the inning

721964

You're right Luis would have done the right thing, no doubt about it. But what i'm saying is, s*** happens and innings will sometimes be extended due to errors, Mota needs to deal with it and get out of the situation. Not explode on the mound and make an already bad situation even worse.
