I went to the game today. Needless to say it was not the Marlins best performance. Before the game the Cards were taking batting practice and Admin Walker crushed a homer off the roof of the Cardinals clubhouse, which was pretty cool.

Willis had a tough outing, obviously. The first 4 innings he didn't look too bad, they're were just a lot of bloopers falling in, and some errors. The 5th inning though they started hitting him hard, and he made an error that really hurt, also. Speaking of errors, Cabs dropped another easy fly ball in left field. Where are all the people who said he was so much better in left? I'd rather see him in right because he'll have less of a chance to screw things up out there, because not as many balls are hit to right. Moehler didn't look too bad, although he did give up a couple hits in the fifth. Both Perisho and Jones had good outings.

The offense didn't look too bad. Delgado didn't hit anything too hard but ended up with 3 solid singles. Easley had probably the best hit of the game a 1-hopper off the fence. Conine had a lot of bad swings at the plate, but ended up getting a big 2-run single. Enc ripped a 2-run double down the left-field line in the 9th.

All in all not the best performance by the fish, but I had fun, I must say Roger Dean Stadium is a really nice stadium, and the place was packed too mostly by Cardinals fans which I found kind of surprising.

nice writeup, thanks

Glad you had fun. Did you manage to get autographs?

What happened to the thought that the team was going to start playing better once the regulars started playing? What is this, 4 losses in a row with the regulars?

I don't like it one bit. :mad

Nice to see Delgado coming around though. :thumbup

And Enc is really having a nice spring. Just why would we want to trade him now? :whistle

I got a couple before the game. Jack, AJ and Carlos were signing. None of the players seemed to want to sign after the game though, which I found odd because I've found that I usually get more after the game. I waited at that spot you told me to, but the players that came out went around the batting cages so they could avoid having to give autographs. Maybe if I had stayed a little longer I would've been able to get some more, but I wanted to get home.

Cool. Jack always signs; and Carlos signed for a lot of people the last game I went to. He's really nice to the fans.

I find it amusing when players take the "long way" back to their cars -- it makes the autograph-seekers groan in disgust. :D

nice write-up.

when the cardinals play the big stadium its mostly cardinals fans too. they have ways. :plain
