April 9, 200521 yr SAN FRANCISCO -- Giants right fielder Moises Alou was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a strained right calf -- retroactive to Thursday -- and infielder Lance Niekro was recalled from Triple-A Fresno. This marks the fourth season in the last six that Alou has been on the DL with a similar injury. He also hurt his right calf early in 2000, 2001 and 2002, but played well the rest of the season each time. The 38-year-old Alou felt tightness over the past week and a half, but aggravated the injury on Opening Day while sprinting for a long fly. He hurt it again Wednesday night against the Dodgers. Alou was hitless over two games this season, while Niekro hit .292 with 13 RBIs in a strong Spring Training performance. Courtesy Of MLB.com
April 9, 200521 yr The 2 biggest douchebags in baseball may very well be Bonds and Alou. This is as close to a good thing as 2 guys on the DL can be. :plain
