Al has not been sharp thus far. His biggest contribution seems to be as a Bench Coach for other pitchers.

Valdez could be back by the end of April to the middle of May

The guy is going to have to rehab at some point.

 

He's so far behind everyone else and getting further behind every day, I think it's reasonable to assume he's going to have to make three or four starts in AAA or AA, which means at least a couple of weeks added on to his recuperation period.

 

My guess is May 15th at the earliest.

I missed the first 7 innings so I didn't get to see the Mets fans reactions when Leiters name was announced and when he took the mound. Did the Mets fans give him a standing ovation or boo him or what?
