Class of 2006 prospect Theo Davis' father on Roy Williams recruiting him...

?North Carolina flew in just to see Theo,? Russell said. ?They told me that they are probably losing Marvin Williams and Sean May ? and based on that, now they really need someone like Theo.?

Bye.

Bye....With a title......more then Duke can say last year.

If thats what you call spinning. I am just saying if you think all coaches walk in and say you will sit for a few years and not play, maybe redshirt, etc...who will come?

It is very common knowledge coaches use whatever they can say at their disposal to recruit.

Every recruit that comments after a visit from Coach K always says, "He told me I'll have to eanr my spot here and nothing is given, everything has to be earned".

Roy is reeling right now.

We'll we can't all be perfect like Coach K, now can we?

edit: Telling someone they will have to earn they playing time and telling someone the opportunity is there for playing time are two different things. I am sure Roy is saying they will have to earn PT but that the players are leaving to help his recruiting efforts. I;m sure even perfect coach k does the same as well.

I kind of wish these guys were staying. All these defections are really squashing the Duke-UNC rivalry. These days it all comes down to basically a cycle of who stays and who goes.

Duke lost a bunch of players last offseason, and UNC was better. UNC loses a bunch of players this offseason, and now Duke will be better. (If Shelden stays, WAAAAAAY better. Suckas!) Then, Duke will lose 2-3 top players, and it will be UNC's time to rule. Wash, rinse, repeat.

I don't blame any of these individuals for leaving. Makes sense for each of them. Just saying...next year would be more fun if some of them stuck around.

2006-2007 Duke Blue Devils will be equal if not better than the 2006-2007 Tar Heels. That should be a good series.

There's a pretty good chance McRoberts won't be around, the way things are going these days. Neither team will be that great.

I will have to disagree.

Duke will most likely have a starting lineup of.

C - Eric Boateng/Brian Zoubek? / Spencer Hawes?

PF - Jamal Boykin/Josh McRoberts?

SF - Dave McClure/Lance Thomas?

SG - DeMarcus Nelson/Martynas Pocius/Gerald Henderson

PG - Greg Paulus/Jon Scheyer

That is a great balance of seasoned players and young talent that I think could really be solid.
