July 27, 200323 yr Just thought I'd make this post to clean out all the discussion in the other threads. I may have come off as pompous in other posts and I didnt mean to. I love all you guys/girls as Marlins fans and certainly dont want you to think im a brat. So lets begin discussion! Ill start first by posting a very good article by Neyer from ESPN: http://www.diamond-mind.com/articles/neyerclutch.htm If you want to discuss this, please read the article all the way through...hopefully at the end of this we can come to an understanding...and eliminate wasted posts in other posts! :lol Ive got an open mind on the subject, do you?

July 27, 200323 yr i really dont have any articles. I guess that article proved the Reggie Jackson thing wrong. But I do think that there are clutch hits. And as ur sig says "The Word Clutch Does Not Exist." You're gonna tell me Michael Jordan wasn't clutch? He wasnt clutch hitting that shot against the Jazz to win the championship? You're gonna tell me John Elway's drives werent clutch? But back to baseball...i really do think that there are clutch hits. Edgar Renteria in 97 game 7 had a clutch hit. All the pressure in the world...he rose up to the challenge and got the hit. He didnt get the hit because averages suggested he would.
July 27, 200323 yr Author Maybe I should change my sig, and in fact I will...I do believe in the word clutch, but I dont believe in clutch hitting as a skill that baseball players are either born with or develop. *goes to change sig*
