Posted May 12, 200519 yr I found this cool rating of parks which will ultimatly tell you which parks are hitters parks and which are pitchers parks. Dolphins stadium is the 4th-best pitchers park in the majors, only surpassed by PETCO, Camden Yards, and Dodger Stadium. Top 5 hitters parks: 1. Coors Field 2. Bank One Ballpark 3. Rogers Centre 4. Busch Stadium 5. Turner Field Check it out, I think it's pretty cool.
May 12, 200519 yr Over the past 3 years, STATS Inc found Pro Player has a 96 factor for runs scored. 11 plus the defunct Qualcomm, Veterans and new Great American (yep) and Petco had park factors of 96 or lower. Home runs are another story.
May 12, 200519 yr I prefer parks like Pro Player versus the parks where the ball flies out like Philly, Camden Yards, Cincy, etc
May 12, 200519 yr That's ridiculous, Camden Yards is a hitters' paradise, and where's Philly in the top-3 hitters' parks, or Cincy's "Great American SmallPark"? Philly's (and Cincy) are much more hitter friendly than Turner (which I'd consider neutral or pitcher friendly) and Busch, yet those two are in the top-5...
May 12, 200519 yr Why is Citizens Bank Park not in that list? It's easily the best hitters park second only to Coors field, and ESPN doesn't even have it in their top 5? Ridiculous.
May 12, 200519 yr You guys are just thinking home runs. This is runs in a whole. Here's the list if you just use home runs: 1) Coors Field (OMG I'm SHOCKED) 2) U.S. Cellular Field 3) Ameriquest Field 4) Citizens Bank Park 5) Wrigley Field 6) BankOne Ballpark 7) Great American Ballpark 8) Oriole Park at Camden Yards 9) Rogers Centre 10) McAfee Colliseum 11) Dodger Stadium 12) Minute Maid Park 13) Miller Park 14) Yankee Stadium 15) Turner Field 16) Safeco Field 17) Angel Stadium of Anaheim 18) PNC Park 19) Fenway Park 20) Shea Stadium 21) Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome 22) Tropicana Field 23) Busch Stadium 24) Joe Robbie Stadium 25) Comerica Park 26) Jacobs Field 27) SBC Park 28) Kauffman Stadium 29) Petco Park Note: RFK not included
May 12, 200519 yr yea, but it should still be up there at the top 5 even though the rns arnt bieng produced
May 12, 200519 yr The ESPN ones are also based on 1 month of stats. 771129[/snapback] Exactly: this is all based on numbers. Just like Clint Barmes' situation, wait 'til August for things to straighten out.
May 13, 200519 yr The ESPN ones are also based on 1 month of stats. Bingo. Camden Yards is a pitcher's park right now because the Oriole pitchers are having a very solid month and a half. Wait for them to come back down to Earth.
