Posted May 13, 200519 yr Hey Admin, what can you do about attaching a spellchecker app to the website, so that these people won't get their panties in a twist over every damned typo? The number of irrelevent posts you'd cut down would be astronomical. Think about all the argumentative tirades we'd eliminate, which serve no purpose but clog up threads that we actually want to read about. Or people can just stop being f***in morons and let a spelling mistake pass without crucifying the person. Jerks.
May 13, 200519 yr i dont know why forums dont do that, it would help me alot with my mispllings and prevent alot of discutions
May 13, 200519 yr Agreed although I was guilty of this once... And btw: You should have posted this in the "Site Issues" forum. It has nothing to do with the Florida Marlins. Just letting you know for future knowledge.
May 13, 200519 yr It's ridiculous. You go to a topic about minor league prospects, for instance, and look forward to reading 23 posts about what's going on in our minor leagues. When you get into the thread, you find out there were two on topic posts but the second one mispelled the word "baseball" and 21 subsequent posts arguing about how worthy your post is if you make a mistake spelling a word. I just wish i didn't have to read all of that garbage to find out that there is nothing relevent in the rest of the thread.

Just letting you know for future knowledge. 771854[/snapback] Ahh, sorry. I didn't know where to put it, but I'm not sure that most people would read it if it was there. I just wish people would let meaningless typos go and not ruin the thread for everyone who reads it.

Insert "on" where indicated to make the grammar of sentence # 2 correct. Thanks.

Looking at the sentence, you'd see that "cut down" modifies "number". Saying that you "cut down" the "number of posts" is fine. You can also "cut down on" "the number of posts", and that would be fine too. :thumbup
May 13, 200519 yr I think this feature would be nice to have added. I have mentioned it to Admin in the past, but it is difficult to add from what I hear because there is none out there for this type of message board software.

I'm just telling you because it's nice to be organized and the site will get messed up if threads always have to be moved. And I totally agree with you. Aslong as you can read without much difficulty what the poster is trying to convey and you can understand it easily then it's alright. Members shouldn't be whining like babies about spelling and grammar mistakes. If you can't handle not attacking a member because they made a mistake then either- Ignore them(which you can do in your User Controls), log off so you can't post, or just don't visit the site anymore. It's as simple as that. Downgrading other members for mistakes is unacceptable. Just because maybe you know how to spell a word and they don't doesn't mean that you have to tell a whole message board.

It's really useful... Admin should really try to get it added. I'm sure a lot of members on this board would use it.

We don't have a nerd around here that can write one up?
