Good list, but no Jeffrey Allison??

If this is a "hot list" why is Eric Reed on there? He's been terrible. Resop's been pitching well as of late, seems like he's gotten over the injury that hampered him for a little bit.

It is a mix between a hot list and potential. Jeffrey Allison should be on honorable mention until he keeps his act together. I think Resop is good but some people in the organization think he is better than he really is. He is a converted OF so he still needs to learn how to pitch- but no doubt he has potential.

RESOP DROPS OUT OF THE TOP 20??????? PLEASE.....DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND LOOK AND SEE WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM BEFORE HIS TWO BAD OUTINGS.....VIRAL INFECTION WHERE HE DROPPED 15 LBS DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO EAT FOR 4 DAYS.....PLACED ON ANTIBIOTICS FOR A WEEK....WHAT DOES THAT DO TO A BODY......READ..READ..AND READ SOME MORE.....IT WEAKENS THE BODY TERRIBLY....

SINCE COMING BACK 3 MORE SAVES....AND NO RUNS......SEEMS TO ME THAT SOMEONE HAS HIS STRENGTH BACK.....

MOLINA IN THE TOP 20....AGAIN PLEASE....MCCANN????.....BOSTICK???.....

MIADICH....FOR GOODNESS SAKE THE MAN IS 29 YRS OLD....

GLAD YOU ARE NOT IN THE DRAFT ROOM ON DRAFT DAY.....

Hit the Caps lock key one time for me. Thats your opinion. Again, I dont care how old the player is (29-Miadich). If they have not played a full year on a roster then I will include them on here as I did with Joe Dillon last month. Right now, Miadich is better than Resop. Period. Resop is based ONLY on potential. I knew about the viral infection. I just think he needs to pitch more before he becomes a big time Marlin prospect. He is a converted OF and is still learning the position. McCann can hit. Bostick will end up surprising people and Molina gets lots of RBIs with good power.

I gotta agree.... meanwhile he has looked strong since he came back

and in WildMarlinsMan's defense this isnt a Top 20 prospect list, more like a who is doing hot list

I agree with both Wildman and Maverick.....time will tell in the long run who is who and who is where and when......alot of W's there.....

Why doesn't Chris Ashby deserve to be in the Top 20?

790145

probably the fact he isnt a prospect and he doesnt have many at bats

Exactly. He probably wouldnt make the Top 30. Especially when you consider VanHurk, Allison, Hutchinson, Tankersley, Bear, L. Mitchell, etc.

Matt Padgett :lol

791075

Whats so funny about him? He's been on fire all year and he's always had potential to be a decent hitter. Granted, he is not a top prospect, doesn't mean he's not hot.

You rank Bazardo ahead of Kensing because of potential. You rank Miadich over Resop because you want to ignore potential. Padgett and Molina? Why not add Sears and Walrond while your at it? Whatever. I appreciate your effort and aattention you're paying to the Marlins' future (and the Japanese Central League and Mexican League's future). I don't understand your system and don't think it's entirely consistent.

:thumbdown You can have your opinions. Walrond and Sears are nobodies. You are just pissed because everybody made fun of your pic that one time. I understand...just get over it.

He isn't exactly a slugger but he's consistently getting singles and walks. Is OBP even considered in this list?

Again, why are Walrond and Sears nobodies but Padgett, Molina and in that case Dillon recognized?

Padgett, Molina, and Dillon have more talent than Walrond and Sears. Plain and simple. Comparing Sears to Dillon or Padgett at this point is not a good observation. I've watched both play numerous times.

I dont think you follow the minors as closely as I do.

1st off, Walrond is nothing more than a AAA lifer like Frank Castillo now. He has allowed 71 hits in 64- Not very impressive.

2nd, Bart Miadich is having an amazing year and deserves to be on this list as much as anybody. He has pitched 26.2 IP, allowing only 20 hits while striking out 50 PEOPLE! He has a 2.70 ERA. All this in a park that might be tougher than Coors field.

3rd, and finally...Matt Padgett is batting .358, 11 homers, and leading all Marlins at any level with 42 RBI. He also has 15 big doubles. He deserves to be on this list.

As for Sears, the guy isn't even a starter on his own team. He is another AAA lifer.

Sears is batting .429 in only 28 ABs- how can you compare him to Padgett who is batting .358 in 201 ABs.

I respect your opinion, but I go to many minor league games and I think I follow the minors closer than you do.

Thanks for explaining yourself, but based on many of your past explanations, I think you should be a little more consistent in your rankings. Some seem to be based on potential, others opportunity, others current ability. That's fine if you're judging each seperately, but a ranking system needs a sort of reliable scale.

Ive already explained it. Its a mix between talent and how hot each player is. What don't you understand?
