I have a Toshiba M35x-S149 and have had a lot of trouble with the AC Adapter. It's worked fine for the most part up until this morning. Anyhow, I plug the charger into the back of the comp. The plug is securely in the socket, yet it does not charge. The light on the front of the computer will go on for a few seconds to signify that it's charging but than will go out. If I wiggle the cord a little bit the charging light will flicker and go out again.

The past couple of hours i've been fooling with it some more and found that I can have it charging for as long as 15 minutes but than will give up and stop charging.

I was wondering if the inability to charge could have anything to do with a Virus or spyware on the computer? Or could it possibly be a defect in the charger?

I doubt it's the entire battery going, I've only had it about 5 months, but I really dont know.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated

I do not think a virus can do that sort of thing, but I could be mistaken, so don't hold me to it. Anyway, it may be a defect in the AC adapter, because I have a similar problem on my laptop, only with my ethernet cord. It was apparentlly jerked out, and the clip broke, so it is just sitting there in the socket. I cannot really move my computer because of this. Well, enough about me. Contact Toshiba about the problem and see what sort of options they have for fixing it, or maybe getting a new adapter.

Sounds like a defect in the charger is your problem. No spyware or virus is going to cause something like that to give you problems.

If you had another AC adapter you could test that and see if that is your problem. Sounds like it's the charger that is dead but of course you should call Toshiba. You've only had it for 5 months right? So that should still be under wauranty
