Schedule Ahead

Featured Replies

Has anyone taken a good look at the coming schedule? We play the hot Nationals in D.C. next , the same team that were once those Expos that we have a hard time beating, except they are even better now and play in front of a nearly packed house each night.

Then a short 6 game homestand that includes the hottest team in baseball, the Rangers.

Then onto a loooong 12 game road trip against the Cubs,Braves,Dodgers, etc. and then we return home at the end of June to face the Braves in a four game series. I hate to be pessimistic (sic?) but if we don't turn things around soon we could be looking at a team that is below .500 by the month's end :(

Regardless of what happens, we have to ask ourselves if this is going to be a team of consistency in all categories as we enter into the second half of the season post-allstar break? Jack may talk about how slides happen here and there during the course of a long season but the question is how many slides can you endure before you realize that you're on a treadmill going nowhere?

To me, this team does NOT feel any different than last year's team. So what if Lowell starts hitting. When he does, Miggy or Delgado will go into a month long slump. That's just how this team goes. Burnett is always on the brink of going on the disabled list. Dontrelle will start to run out of gas because of how high strung he is,and our bullpen will be as inconsistent as it has always been.

Let's see what happens!

I'd take a 4 game series against the Cards every week as opposed to the Pirates or Rockies :lol .

Let's see what happens!

Now that four days have gone by since I first posted this. Now reread it and let's weep together! It's only going to get worse. Our offense is the same as last season's offense. INCONSISTENT! Only right now, it is virtually nonexistant. Bullpen is horrific and our starting pitching cannot give the pen a break once in a while.

It's also come to the point where I think the 7th inning is our BERMUDA TRIANGLE.
