June 7, 200521 yr Ok,I know the Marlins won 2 world series titles in 7 years, but the last two years, since the Marlins won that last title, there's been some kind of bad karma going around here as far as South Florida teams go. 1) Last year, the Marlins pulled within a game of the "Wild Card" Chicago Cubs but a couple of hurricanes caused the cancellation of several games thus causing the Fish to play multiple doubleheaders and 34 games in 30 days thus unable to pitch their regular rotation..so they had to have double A pitchers try and come thru for them and of course they got blasted and the Fish ended up sinking. 2)The Dolphins have Star running back Ricky Williams walk out on them, leaving the Fins reeling just before the season starts and leaving them with no choice but to have one of their worst seasons ever. 3)The Florida Panthers fans are victims to an NHL LOCKOUT and NO HOCKEY for an ENTIRE season! It looks grim for this coming season too! Of course South Florida hockey fans were not the only fans in North America who suffered but nonetheless - NO Panther hockey. 4)And then this season. The Heat work hard all year and were the best team in the East and were poised to make it to the finals and then their entire starting lineup is decimated by FREAK injuries. What more can you say? 5)In the works - a potential disastrous 2005 Marlins team. Picked by many more media people this year to dethrone the Braves from 1st place.It's still early though, I know....but it's NOT that early. I have NEVER EVER seen three different sports teams from this local area have such incredibly bad luck handed to them back to back to back like this with the Marlins, Fins and the Heat. Marc

Fla sports Thats about all I can really think of with multiple teams being very good...The Heat and Dolphins have been competative for about a decade together...Marlins were never horrible except for 1998-1999 and expansion, Panthers were always good in the 90's... Right now its only the Heat and Marlins, hopefully Dolphins soon, maybe the Panthers someday
