Brandman316
Beckett gone in less than 3 innings. Al Leiter fills in for him, possible lower back pain

MarlinsFan253
But on a serious note, this gives Leiter a good chance to redeem himself. Let's hope!

NirvanaNole
Beckett is my favorite Marlin and he's the only player I've bought a player specific Marlins jersey of. With that said, I hope to God we resign AJ and sign Willis long term. I'd still take Beckett (if healthy) in the final game of the World Series, but he can't be depended on to be our ace during the regular season. He just can't hold up. AJ and Beckett have better stuff than Willis but they'll never be the pitcher Willis is during the regular season. Â

841036[/snapback] I wrote a post earlier in the season where i said Beckett was over rated and Im sticking to it. Beckett played great in the World Series, but other that, I can hardly remember any other time when Josh made me think "WOW this guy is great." Beckett is starting to become too injury-prone to be depended on to be GREAT during the regular season.  I also agree with you that Willis will probably end up being the better regular season pitcher than Josh even though Josh has better stuff. With Willis you always get 120% percent effort, but with Josh you don't. Im not saying he doesn't try, but it seems like your only going to get a certain amount of "stuff" from Josh and thats it. jackarmstrong
man, i am crapping my pants hearing about this. this team was looking like it was starting to turn things around, winning 4 of 5 against NY/ATL, but between getting whacked by the brewers and possibly losing my beckett i am seriously worried here. PBMarlin
Does this put him back on the DL like last year? If so, Leiter is back in the rotation? Yikes.
TSwift25
Well, can't say Leiter pitched terribly tonight. He only allowed one of his runners to score and he did pitch to the park (finally), and it's not his fault Gonzalez didn't come up with the grounder...thing was practically hit right to him. rorod
WS hero great stuff to ba an ace an elite athlete taken down by a measly blister and strained oblique. dont get it. he needs to suck it up besides he is getting paid a bunch. another thing gonzo is usually horrible at the plate with the occasional clutch homerun and stellar gold glove defense. but thgis year he is making error after error and his power #s are down but his avg is .260. i want the old gonzo back
