I saw the Marlins in this series basically being the same team that they have been all year. They just wait around for the big hit, which always comes in the 3rd game of a series after they have lost the first 2 games. They usually score the big or winning runs after they get 4 hits, 4 walks, or a combination of both in an inning. There is really no aggression; just base-to-base offensive strategy. Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z. It's like watching an AL team.

Maybe we should make a trade with the Devil Rays that sends our team to the AL and them to the NL. No, that would hurt us because that's a tough division. Maybe the AL Central or West...I wonder what team wants to trade leagues.

We can put Conine as our DH and Jack can wait for all of the 3-run homers that he wants. We can also trade Pierre and Castillo for some guys with a little more pop, even though it they may have less batting avg. and more Ks to go with those HRs.

For someone with the Screenname PositiveHype, you sure have alot of negativity..

I didn't realize that there is alot to be positive about with a team that is severely underachieving with alot of talent. Let me see, can I be positive about the fact that we have scored less than 3 runs in 28 of our 82 games? That's about 35% of our games. They have 3 wins and 25 losses in those gomes.

OK. I found a positive; they are 40 and 24 when they score more than 2 runs. At there pace, if the scored more than 2 runs in have of those other 28, their record would be somewhere around 50-32. Wow, now that would be a positive experience.

I admit; it wasn't one of my best, but I was more interested in pointing out something about the effect of the hitting dilemma and the team's place in the standings. Give me time and I'll get some good sarcasm in when I'm properly motivated.

Let's use this thread like a therapy session. Just say anything that comes to mind about the Fish.

Hmmmm...Can a fish sink? Somehow the Marlins are.

Hmmmm...They definitely stink too.

Hmmmm...and Jack is showing that when people get really old, they have a specific odor too.

Anyone else have a thought to make this thread run?

3. Hard to play smallball with 2-out baserunners

We give up way to many useless outs. I really wish Jack would start using some more hit and run type plays. Draw the SS and 2B from the holes let someone pop something through. Enough of these f***in sac bunts already. I think its also important that JP be a bit more patient at the plate rather then always trying to put the ball in play. Its quite obvious that when he gets on base more times then not we win. The more walks he draws the better off we are. JP's speed and agressiveness on the basepaths lately has really picked it up a notch.
