Yankees Sign Alan Embree

Per Rotoworld.

Obviously the Yankee pre-trading deadline motto is, if you can throw a baseball, we have a place for you on our team.

Oil Can Boyd threw 7 innings of 3 hit shutout ball in independent ball yesterday.

The Can is 2-3 with a 4.16 ERA in 62.2 IP. 68 hits allowed. 41 K. 7 BB.

Get. It. Done.

Apparently they DFA'd Buddy Groom to make room for him.

Boy, if the Yankees somehow won the World Series this year, they'd be on the hook for a lot of rings. I wonder if they'd give one to Tim Redding?

Wow. I've seen a lot of Embree this season and if the Yankees are expecting him to help anything...he won't. But that's okay. Send him out there every night, guys!

Came in, gave up a hit, and had a horrible throw to first for what should be his error.

I think he's still playing for Boston. :plain
