July 30, 200520 yr This whole Fox/MLB deal where you can't watch any of the games on mlb.tv makes me absolutely sick. Because there is ONE game on locally where I live, I can't watch anything else on the Internet? What is the point of even doing this??? Do they actually think it's gonna make me watch a game I have little to zero interest in? The Cardinals/Dodgers? SO WHAT??!!!! And if it were not for the rain delay, that game would be starting after the Marlins/Nationals game has already been played, it's not like they even coincide with each other. Saturdays drive me absolutely crazy because I can't watch my favorite team play. And for what? When the Cardinals/Dodgers game comes on, I won't be watching. Is there any kind of explanation for this stupid deal?
July 30, 200520 yr I hate it too......I dont pay to have mlb.tv blacked out once a week for the whole fricken day
July 31, 200520 yr Fox pays a lot of money to own the Saturday time slot between 1:00 and 7:00 pm. With the money they dish out, they naturally are going to want and get exclusive rights to a time slot. Fox would rather have you watch their network than be able to see the game they are broadcasting that you don't get over your computer. They don't black out the whole day. They own the 1-7 slot. The only games that are missed are the Fox games that aren't in your area, and any team starting before 7pm for some strange reason. It's only the other Fox games and the Fish if they are at home thanks to the retarded 6:05 start time on Saturdays in Miami.
July 31, 200520 yr Damn near 90% of the games on MLB.TV are from an FSN broadcast anyways, so I don't see what the big deal is for Fox not to allow others to watch FSN broadcasts.
July 31, 200520 yr Yeah, this sucks. I subscbribed to MLB.TV to watch the Giants and now I can't watch them on Saturdays.. I don't get it. I thought the whole reason for blackouts, is for fans to come out... which is why I can't watch Marlins games on MLB.TV... What's the purpose of blacking out a Giants game for someone who lives in South Florida?
