August 11, 200322 yr How many tickets have to sell for the game to be a sellout because that night D-Train pitched against Randy they just kept on opening sections...so how many tickets have to sellout for the game to be a sellout??
August 11, 200322 yr At the Pro, there is a difference between a sell-out and filling up the stadium. There is a number, in the mid-30s I believe that makes it technically a "sell-out", but they can keep opening up more sections if need be. As seen during the World Series, that stadium can hold like 65,000 for baseball.
August 11, 200322 yr Probably around 55,000 or 60,000 technically. As long as people are buying, they'll open more sections.
August 11, 200322 yr i know its over 60K at the Phins first preseason game i think they had about 63,000
August 11, 200322 yr are you serious?? 63K for the Phins first preseason game? thats insane. Do they normally sell out every game during the reg. season? yes

August 11, 200322 yr yes Ummmm..... Not really actually. Remember the WC game a coupel of years ago? You wouldn't remember it if you sat at home trying to get it on local TV, b/c it didn't sell out. Fact is there are usually at least a couple thousand horrible seats left over unsold for a few of the regular season games. The main reason they don't sell out these seats is due to the fact that you are closer to the sun that the field, and people have been known to spontaneously combust in the upper rows during a 1 o'clock sunday game. The local affiliates usually buy up the remainder at a discount to get around the blackout rule.

August 11, 200322 yr People make way too much out of attendance. It is a total fraud that the interest and passion of fans can be judged by attendance. There are so many variables with respect to how and why people go to games. Sorry to go OT, but this rankles me.
August 11, 200322 yr Especially in the NFL. Unless you decide to rob every 7-11 you see on the way to the game there is no way you can swallow paying the $200-$300 bucks it costs for a family of four. Which is one of myriad reasons why baseball is the best in-person spectator sport.
August 11, 200322 yr The attendance for the PPS sold-out game recently was 37,735. They called that a sell-out.
August 12, 200322 yr And it was a sellout..... A sell out is more like 36,000 something.... if there's a demand for tickets, you obviously open more sections up, I mean, you don't want to turn down a person who has driven to the stadium and paid parking to then tell them there are no seats available....even if it's in the upper deck they'll take it. Now for the playoffs, that's a totally different story.
