Marlins & McKeon

Why is there a "rumor" about managerial candidates being told about Jack being replaced after this season? This has got to be the most ridiculous thing to have going on during a playoff hunt. I don't like McKeon's style of baseball, but this could have waited for the offseason for 2 reasons. 1) the team doesn't need distractions and 2) what happens if the fish make the playoffs and win the World Series? We'd really look pretty bad at that point even if there was the shared opinion that any manager could have done it with this team, like Barry Switzer did with the Cowboys and Phil Jackson did with his MJ or Shaq teams. If Jack was to be fired, it should have been done at the All Star break. Barry Switzer and Phil Jackson weren't fired after winning championships.

Admin Beinfest, please hear this. You should have done something when myself and many others were begging for a change, which was very logical, not after something may happen that would make it look really stupid on a national scale.

Let me clarify:

When I say that it could have waited until the offseason, I mean that this is something that shouldn't have "leaked out" right now.

Like Jack or not, he has done more for this orginization than any other manager.

He took a bunch of kids to the WS and won it his first year here, and is now in the think of the wildcard race for the 3rd season in a row. He has the most wins of any Marlin manager(and amassed that in a very short time)and led the team to it's first consecutive winning seasons(and working on a third).

My guess is he told the FO that this was his last season wether the team will win lose or draw(he is 75). Your making a big deal out of something that is most likely not that big of a deal. And once again, being more negative than positive.

Little gem for our friend PositiveHype:

2 days ago, first inning Marlins score in the following way: Pierre hit by pitch, steals second. Conine bunts him over to third. Cabs sacrifice fly. 1-0 Marlins, no hits. I bet you had a hard on for the rest of the game.

I think that Jack is going to retire after the year, and the marlins will go after a "Name" for the team then. Perhaps Pinnella (my personal choice). But, we shall see what happens. I dont think the marlins wanted the rumors leaked though.
