Posted August 30, 200519 yr OK, here's the deal. Me and my brother have been trying to find some info on around what round he will be taken in next years draft, and what the payout will be. Is there any way we can figure this out, or anyone that can give me some insight that has background or knowledge on the subject? Obviously I have to tell you all his info, but before I go through all that, I want to see if anyone could actually help me out at all...
August 30, 200519 yr Author I'm guessing there isn't anyone that can help? I was hoping Ramp or someone... guess not?
August 30, 200519 yr If your brother is as good as you think he is he will be contacted by teams soon that are interested in him and according to the kind of season he has they will tell him when they will try to draft him.....As for the money, if he goes in the first couple of rounds he will be offered a very nice Signing bonus plus rookie league contract which i think was up to $900 to $1000 a month.....if he is drafted after the third round the signing bonus money goes way down but you still get the same amount of monthly pay.....thats's the basic's, if u wanna get into more specific details just IM me or send me an e-mail.......

One by the Mariners, one by the Phillies, both on the second day. For them, the full rides to Notre Dame and UM were more enticing than the second day money. If your brother is a pitcher, and he isn't exactly a college type person (take that however you want) then going pro might not be a terrible idea, even if the second day money isn't great. If he's a position player, and he's taken on the second day, college may be the way to go. Really, it depends how confident he is in being able to improve his stock in college, if he thinks he's maxed out, then he should probably go pro. If not, and he's a fringe guy, he's likely to get lost in the shuffle as a second day player. Either way, talk to agent, but remember, they'll promise you more than they can realistically provide just to get you to sign.

We know at this point he's going to go somewhere... The tough part is figuring out whether that's the first day or second day. A good thing he has going for him, though, is that he has D-I football scholarship offers on top of the opportunity to play high D-I college baseball, giving him a ton of leverage to work with when it comes to negotiating a contract. So if he is a first day pick, he could pull a Grady Sizemore and get a whole lot more money than his pick usually would receive because he has so many other options. I'm basically just trying to find out where he would most likely be projected to go in next years draft... that's basically it.
