Zook wins Illini Debut

Featured Replies

They were down 27-10 going to the 4th quarter to Rutgers.. The Illini would mount a great comeback from a FG by Jason Reda, Tim Brasic TD throws to Kendrick Jones and E.B. Halsey. Tied game at 27.. 3 seconds left..

Illinois had a shot to win it with a 52 yard FG but missed so we go to OT tied at 27. Rutgers would kick a 40 yard FG to take the lead.. Illinois down 3.. E.B. Halsey with a great run to the right and reverses to the left for a 20 yard run.. 1st and Goal now on the 2 yard line.. Pierre Thomas rushed up the middle.. TD ILLINI..

Final: Illinois Fighting Illini d. Rutgers Scarlet Knights 33-30 in OT.

(I know I know.. It was Rutgers but that was the most heart and effort I've seen by the Illini in some good 4 years or so. They never gave up and fought this out. Shouldnt have won the game but they did. :thumbup )

Great game for the Zooker and the Illini. Illinois was a home underdog too! Ron Zook is perfect for that team with his recruiting ability.

just Rutgers bein Rutgers......
