September 11, 200520 yr Has anyone noticed something about the Marlins pace in relation to the other contenders? Every other playoff contender has had better winning streaks than the Marlins at some point this season. However, they have followed those up with worst losing streaks than the Marlins have had this season of at least more combinations of them. The Marlins have walked along at the same pace from Day 1 up to now. Does this remind anyone of the fairy tale "The Tortoise and the Hare?" It seems to be following the same plot with the Marlins right there in the race while consistently moving at the same slow pace. I hope that the Marlins can follow the tortoise's pattern and finish on top when all of the rabbit's (Mets, Nats, Phils, Stros) have fallen apart after hot streaks here and there.

September 12, 200520 yr Good theory! It's true though. We've never really taken control of this race (dangerous) and yet we have never really given it all up. (promising) I hope we can at least take control vs. Houston. I'm not sure we can just be a tortoise the rest of the way especially playing every other contender.
September 12, 200520 yr Didn't the tortoise cheat? (Or was that just the Looney Toons version?) Are you suggesting we cheat?

I think that I remember Bugs encouraging those thugs to beat up the turtle, but was beaten up himself because he wore an outfit that was designed like the turtle's shell. I definitely remember that he cheated in trying to get information on the design of the turtle's shell. So it all balanced out and the tortoise won. Hopefully the fish will come out of the shell (or get into it) and win too starting with this series.
September 13, 200520 yr Author And the Tortoise (Marlins) takes the lead!!! :thumbup :shifty :notworthy
