Maybe its just me, but the ball was hit right at Conine. I know Delgado isn't the best defensively but I think he would've made the play as well. Not that it matters, just saying.

When he made this move, I was unhappy, thinking that it wasn't going to work out. Both Jones pitching for the extra 2/3 of an inning, and taking out delgado in a close game, scared me. Then on the first pitch, Jones gets the groundball hit straight at Conin, the defensive replacement for Delgado, who promplty turned the double play. I was immediately struck with a reminiscent feeling of magical dumb luck. It felt like that "other September" a few years back.

Isn't the responsibility of the manager to direct his players and handle them in such a way that they can contribute at their peak level where the team needs them?
