how about bobby valentine for our manager?

Featured Replies

the former mets manager who i heard was interviewed by the devil rays last week.Let's face it giraldi will bring a good coaching staff but he is thinking too much about the cubs,if we were to have an elimination game vs cubs to decide who goes to the playoffs he'll let the scrubs win it just because he played there live there and love them.

top three on my list in no order

freddy gonzales *knows the organization, latin influence and a young and energetic coach*

bobby valentine *good all around manager*

lou pinella *seasoned manager although chemistry is an issue*

Why is Bobby Valentine a good overall manager?

he is a winner and does thing mckeon never did till late in the season ala squeeze play, hit and run and all that and also never heard any player had any complains about him.Mutts never won nothing with him because the mutts are the muts

im pretty sure when you said giraldi you meant joe girardi, i'm not sure how our team would do with chocolate coaching it... (get it...ghirardelli) well thats what i thought when i read it

and you might wanna elaborate on 'good all around manager' that means nothing. joe torre is a good all around manager. tony la russa is a good all around manager. bobby cox is a good all around manager...for some reason i'd have trouble putting bobby valentine in that mix. unless you consider the other ones great managers (granted torre has had plenty to work with) but cox and la russa without a doubt are incredible guys that know the game of baseball like no other. bobby valentine? theres a reason he's in japan

The Mets won because we added better talent like Edgardo Alfonzo, John Olerud, Robin Ventura, Mike Piazza, Al Leiter, Mike Hampton, Armando Benitez etc.

He IS a good in game manager, and makes a lot of controversial decisions that make him either look like a genius or an idiot. Overworks the pen and plays favorites to a fault.

I certainly would love to have him back.

Ridiculous.
