  1. Olivo had the chance to start with Seattle and played regularly from April until June. As a result he hit .150... Then he was traded to the Padres where he hit .304 and manager Bruce Bochy credited him with being an important reason the team made the playoffs. so who is the real Miguel Olivo? the marlins savior? :mischief2 mmm
  2. to be honest,i dont like the idea of having the stadium done in wayne territory for the simple fact that it will still be a rent.Think about this the day wayne feels he wants his land back to do whatever he wants we'll have to move our a$$ off that land, yes take the money but build it in the downtown or orangebowl or sell the damn team to someone with deep pockets and what exactly did you think the ob site stadium would have been? as you put it, a rent. the marlins would have had to pay rent to the city of miami. it's different to deal with the city who actually wants to keep the team in miami to a guy who just want to be seen as a heroe
  3. He makes a good point that Huizenga has soured Broward County on sports complexes. There really aren't any good options for Loria and Co. yes there is a better option and it's call Cisneiros :banghead

  5. Ok heres the possible lineup next year 1.Reed's seem to have the best chance since we have NO more hitting prospects above AA 2.Hermida 3.Cabs 4.Jacobs 5.Willingham 6.Hanley 7.Andino(2B) why not who else can play it 8.LF IDK Pitching Rotation 1.Dontrelle Willis 2. Jason Vargas 3.Scott Olsen 4. Josh Johnson 5. Nic Ungs/Brian Moehler???? Bullpen Closer Chris Resop/Scott Boyer Setup see above 7th inning Randy Messenger This team is just not good enough remember we HAVE to play the Mets, braves, Phillies and Nats 19 times a year thats 76 games against teams that are either slightly or much better at this point so lets say we win 35 of those which is way to high we still are 5 games out of .500 with 80 sum more games to go Im hoping that they can avoid 100 losses past that I really dont know i agree with you in all u just said my line up would go like this 1-aguila lf he lead off for us in some games last year 2-hermida rf 3-cabrera 3b 4-jacobs 1b 5-willy c 6-dan uggla 7-hanley ramires ss 8-erik reed cf 9-pitcher rotation 1-willis 2-vargas 3-sergio mitre/moehler 4-scott olsen 5-josh johnson bullpen moheler/mitre long reliever spot starter some more arms needed 7 inning randy messenger set up chris resop closer nate bump 60 wins at best to be realistic
  6. 70 wins would have been more interesting. I think they're a 75 win team. if you think this team can win 70+ games then you need to get your head checked :whistle 1-no proven players beside willis and cabrera 2-no proven or rookie manager 3-no bullpen 4-no real catcher*no hating on willy but his defense stinks nomatter how u slice it* 5-jacobs at 1st base with no backup vs LHP?conine comes to mind perhaps julio franco,he just signed 6- injuries 7-bunch of good talented minor league players who always dont pan out and the list goes on yeah you are going to say they are young and are eager to play in the majors but take in to account that as rookie as they are, they'll make alot of mistakes trying to do too much and last but not least we play within our division arond 72-76 times and all of these teams have improved in the offseason over 100 loses is more real
  7. or whoever his last name is,are you against or in favor of this trade?
  8. castillo i wished you were traded to the nl east so we could see you more often,we'll miss you man and to think u took a paycut to stay with the org, that make you the classiest marlins player we've ever had.We should retire his # along with #18 a.k.a Mr Marlin.
  9. yea right the marlins can be competitive competitive my a$$
  10. now that luigy has been traded :thumbdown who that heII wants to go and see The Florida Sardines yes that's what we are right now.If loduca and pierre are traded then we'll only have two proven productive players Cabrera and Willis that's it 50-112 record is expected something better than that is a bonus
  11. i look it this way minaya says: 1-milledge for delgado and $7 mill 2-petit and jacobs for delgad and $7 mill marlins:give me the #2 that way we have a young pitcher and someone who can play at 1st Logically, option 2 would be an ideal choice by Beinfest, but I think with a guy like Milledge you have to take into account the sperstar abilities he has. What if I told you Milledge was going to be a Cabrera clone, then which option would you take?? :whistle lol
  12. i look it this way minaya says: 1-milledge for delgado and $7 mill 2-petit and jacobs for delgad and $7 mill marlins:give me the #2 that way we have a young pitcher and someone who can play at 1st
  13. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5106142 i feel so good right now
  14. Billy Beane made this deal for lesser prospects and didn't get nearly the browbeating. Y'all mooks need to chill out. Tim Hudson for Dan Meyer, Charles Thomas, and Juan Cruz that's what am saying, hudson had to had more vaue than beckett because of his track record and see what they got in return
  15. please explain to me why he d1cked us up? look it this way beckett traded for Hanley Ramirez Anival Sanchez Lowell $18m magically disapear we trade an ace type pitcher in joshy for 2 top notch prospects. Now consider this,if beckett's elbow dont hold up this season we got the better deal hoping that doesnt happen but seems like everytime we trade or lose our top pitching guys they have arm problems Penny Pavano......

  19. I think it really comes down to the fact that Cards got into playoffs and Marlins didn't maybe because willis was black :whistle ,just kidding

  21. I'll say it again. The only reason for this thread and it's headline was to draw attention to the person posting it. whatever :whistle
  22. Marlins: General manager Admin Beinfest, under contract through 2007 with the Marlins, is believed to have interest in the Dodgers GM post. According to published reports Friday, the Dodgers have not asked the Marlins for permission to speak with Beinfest, who grew up in the Los Angeles area. Two league sources told MLB.com that first baseman Carlos Delgado definitely will be shopped and likely will be traded before the start of Spring Training. Last January, Delgado signed a four-year, $52 million deal with the Marlins with an option for a fifth season. With the Marlins expected to trim payroll, Delgado is a strong candidate to be traded because of his value and remaining salary. He has three years and $48 million left on his contract, including $13.5 million for the 2006 season. According to the sources, the Marlins will float Delgado's name around beginning next week at the general manager meetings in California. One source said scouts at the Arizona Fall League are talking about Delgado being on the market, and the Mets are the team showing the most interest.
  23. I remember seeing that Pepsi commercial with Vlad and A-Rod. Now think about this for a moment, is it possible Pepsi cursed Vlad and A-Rod? A-Rod batted pretty poorly in the DS and Vlad's batting AVG in that ALCS was like .050. I hope this makes you think twice before taken that sip of Pepsi :mischief i saw Aj Burnett with a can of pepsi at minutemaid park, maybe that has something to do with him walking the #8 and #9 hitter :whistle
