November 22, 200520 yr Jiri Fischer was hit in the throat with a stick and had a seizure during tonights Red Wings vs. Predators game. ESPNEWS said they took him into the lockerroom and had to perform emergency CPR and use a defibulator and he's now at a hospital in Detroit. This happened late in the 1st period and the rest of the game was cancelled and will have to be replayed at a later date. Best of luck to him and I hope he's okay, it hits close to home for me, i've had the misfortune of having to experience and deal with a number of seizures first hand and they're a terrible terrible thing to witness.
November 22, 200520 yr Oh wow. Jiri Fischer is one of the more solid defensemen in todays game. Thats incredible. That type of injury is incredibly rare, even in hockey. I hope he survives it.
November 22, 200520 yr I hope he is all right, that is very scary, especially in that situation...Im glad the EMT's or whatever medical staff was there got to him quickly.
