Will Jason Stokes ever get a chance to play with the Marlins.

Signing Delgado and then trading him for Mike Jacobs is a sure sign Stokes isn't in the long term plans for the organization. I don't know why he hasn't been sent somewhere else yet.

as an unproven player, he has no value until he sheds the injury bug

Like everyone else that is a "rookie" at ST, he should hopefully see some ABs...If he isnt long term maybe a good spring will prompt a decent trade

Will Stokes ever figure out that he's not in 1985, in West Virginia, listening to White Snake ?

I'd love to see a guy with Stokes potential in the majors, but I think we're not gonna see that unless Jacobs falters, which is possible but of course not hoped for.

If Olivo sucks and Willy can't do it, I wouldn't mind Jacobs at C.

One of the many questions that will be answered during spring training.

This could be his golden opportunity.

But if I had to guess, I would say no.

I will say this: Stokes hasn't failed as a prospect because of a loss of ability, he's failed because of consistent injury problems.

He still has 40 homerun potential, but he has to prove his worth/health, and if he does, I do expect him to get the first-base job that he was meant to assume in 2004.

However, there is no reason to expect him to be our starter, or even a bench player, this season.
