Florida and Tampa Bay wish to play here Friday, 5 of September of 2003 By Luis Santiago Maple End.larce@elnuevodia.com Puerto Rico it seems that it will have baseball of Great Leagues in the 2004, but not necessarily with the Expos of Montreal. According to a close friend to the process, that he did not want to be identified, the executives of ' Major League Baseball' (MLB), aside from the proposals to carry out the 81 local games of the Expos the next campaign in San Juan, Monterrey (Mexico) or the same Montreal, also have ' in mang? one second alternative. A series of 22 encounter "Another option is to leave to the Expos in Montreal or llev?rselos for Monterrey, and in that case, it is possible that they bring another equipment to Puerto Rico for a limited series of games, that could again be of 22 since this year with the Expos has become", it said the source yesterday to the New Day. It revealed, even, that the equipment candidates to come, instead of the Expos, would be the Devil Rays of Tampa Bay or the Marlins of Florida, that tonight initiates a series in the Municipal Stage Hiram Bithorn. Executives of Great Leagues, nevertheless, have assured that in these days they will only make a decision on the future immediate of the Expos for the 2004, between San Juan, Monterrey and Montreal, although some have admitted that "there are other equipment interested in playing in Puerto Rico". On the other hand, the director of Recreation and Sports of the Municipality of San Juan, Maria Elena ' Mari? Batiste, possibly revealed that the mayor of the Capital, Jorge Santini, would have a meeting with the directors of municipal agencies and their advisers to present today, in press conference, some official position of her administration on the imminent announcement of MLB. "In the reality we see that there are ready governments to invest significant amounts of money and that there are other stages in the world, that are not using for Great Leagues? we have much, and good competition ", emphasized Batiste. Trusted Antonio Mu?oz , one of the directors of the local company promotional, Antonio Mu?oz Grajales, indicated as well that "we followed the delay and trusted that the proposal who we put under has ' chanc? of being accepted, but obvious, we have one lasts competition". One hopes that the commissioner of Great Leagues, Bud Selig, does an official announcement on the Expos the next Tuesday, when he comes to be present at the first game of the series against the Puppies of Chicago before returning immediately to its office in New York.

I saw the article and got nervous, but then remembered neither team's ownership could, or would do that. They would lose money.

The article said it would be similar to the Expos situation in PR now. It doesn't seem too credible.

eqiupos is spanish for team, you had me a little confused there with "equipment" wanting to play. Cachorros is Cubs.

anyway, i didnt read the article in spanish because i have difficulty understanding some of it and your translation was kinda confusing (i understand, the same would've happened to me). its a horrible idea to have a team play "home" games in some alternate site. your pretty much playing 20 extra road games. i didnt understand the whole article so i dont know if the article is saying the Marlins or D-Rays might play 22 games overthere, if it is i dont like it. Montreal shouldnt even be doing it.

oh im sorry man. i hope you didnt get offended when i thought it was your translation, like i said i wouldve had trouble translating it myself (except for the equipment and cubs thing).

I am so tired that even thought the translation is flawed, it gets the message to people.

Too burnt out to translate, must sleep, Phillies must lose.

it is possible that they bring another equipment to Puerto Rico for a limited series of games

although some have admitted that "there are other equipment interested in playing in Puerto Rico"

when he comes to be present at the first game of the series against the Puppies of Chicago
