February 21, 200620 yr MLB has done a real sh*tty job of moving this team. Imagine the Marlins. :o Well, the Marlins are actually owned by someone. Anyway, the smart move here would be to tell this company to go to hell and change the name now, avoiding the embarrassment of losing the lawsuit and allowing for a change before the 06 season begins. However, it'd be a tough sell to fans who have bought Nationals merchandise since I guess there's an outside chance MLB will win the lawsuit.
February 21, 200620 yr I doubt this company has a chance in hell. they are looking for a quick buck. They would probably settle @ 200-300K
February 22, 200620 yr Author Nats stuff from 2005 would be worth more than it would if no name changed. :shifty Can we say the Washington Senators?
February 22, 200620 yr This sounds very similar to cyber-squatting. I'm curious to see if the courts see it that way.
February 22, 200620 yr They should just go back to Senators, I never liked 'Nationals' anyways. They never were the Senators. Secondly I believe the Rangers own the name 'Washington Senators".
