March 27, 200620 yr http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/conten...conds_0327.html What does your dad do for a living? He's a nuclear physicist. What are you doing here? Why didn't you follow him into the labs? Because I'm not half as smart as him. I'm glad that's his thing and not mine. I enjoy this a lot more. What exactly does he do? He deals with radioactive waste, making sure the levels of radioactivity are safe at nuclear power plants. He helps people out, I guess. Does he wear a big white scrub suit? I don't think so. They have safety precautions, but he does to have to put on a big spacesuit. Ever go to work with him? A couple of times as a kid I did, but I learned when I was about 14 not to even ask how his day at work went because it wasn't going to make any sense to me anyway. He's a lot more interested in what I do now. Growing up, did you want to be a scientist like your dad? I looked up to him, but it had nothing to do with his career path. Just the type of person he was. A lot of the same qualities he has used to be successful in what he has done are in me. I'm trying to use them to help me be successful here. How does your dad follow your career? Every way he possibly can. On the Internet, on the phone with me. He reads all the publications. Is he a serious-type guy? Not really. He's about as normal as they come. He's a big baseball fan. Does he watch The Simpsons? No, we never watch The Simpsons together. But my roommate in college, his dad called my dad Homer because Homer works at a nuclear power plant. My dad got a kick out of that.
March 27, 200620 yr I like this kid, I am quite disappointed he never jumped to the bigs, I thought since he came out of college that he might have been more polished than he really is, but hey, I am still high on him.
