A loss tonight for the Panthers as they fall to the Hurricanes 3-2. Now the Panthers have little wiggle room left, only allowed 1 more loss to even stay in it until the end.

The Islanders lost again tonight so they are all but eliminated.

*In case of a tie in points the first tie breaker is total number of wins*

Remaining schedule against playoff teams (in the last spot race)

Tampa: 3

Atlanta: 2

Toronto: 1

Next game: 4-1 V Tampa This is the first of three against Tampa to end the season. They need to sweep Tampa to hope to over take them.

Tough loss....We played an excellent game tonight. If not for RL's bad stick work, things might have turned out different. He did an excellent job otherwise. I'm not gonna blame Luongo, though. The 3 missed breakaway chances did us in. It's unforgivable to not cash in on at least one. The glove save on Sim really hurt.

The panthers have been doing everything right, but the other teams keep winning. It's possible to make the points on Tampa, but it's still looking this year may be marked by an outstanding rather than making the playoffs. Either way, I still believe this team has a great shot of the playoffs and has had a solid season. Whether they make it or not this year, the Cats are going to the playoffs next season for sure.

The way i see it - the only way we have a chance is if we sweep Tampa (3-0) in our remaining games - in regulation - and go 8-1 overall. That would mean Tampa would have to go 4-5 overall to miss (which essentially would mean they would need to go 4-2 or worse in the games they dont play us)

The next two games will be our season - we could be as close as 4 points out or as far as 12 pts back - I hope the BAC will be rocking tonight because these guys have earned it IMO.
