April 2, 200620 yr Das, don't get all your panties in a wad because no good news has come in your bid. The fact is that the Marlins/MLB are in a huge corner because only San Antonio has shown the faint interest of letting voters add some funding to a ballpark plan. The best chance is the Hialeah site by a long-shot and you have yet to recognize that. For being such a ball buster, you are very selective in what you want to focus on. Why in one month have the Marlins not conducted "serious" face-to-face negotiations with San Antonio? Until that happens, you won't even see the referendum asked for. Hell, right now all we have is a powerpoint with no explanation on how the Marlins will fund their end. All the San Antonio solutions for private funding are easily bettered by the plan Dade County has proposed. Way to be non biased.
April 3, 200620 yr you don't think Huizenga had the money? the issue is the non-support or caring of the enormous south fla market. Why should South Florida care about a business that treats them like sh*t? The customer service and gametime experience for season ticket holders is easily the worst in sports. The team makes no attempts to make life easier for fans. Completely baseless statement. High-payroll big name rosters were tried and won the series. Young, exciting players won the series to little economic benefit for the business's investors. And now they're taking the approach (smart one) of dumping old, overpaid, overrated players for guys who could be young, cheap, solid players RIGHT now. Still, even if this fanbase does feel like this, why does the current ownership have to stand for it? they've done everything possible to achieve a consistent, exciting product. South Fla needs to lose this franchise and start over again in a few years with any team.
