every year its the same sh*t. Bump sucks, last year he sucked. The year before that he sucked. Everytime he goes out to pitch its a circus. He is as bad as Ben Howard. Please I pray to the baseball gods that I never see Bump in a fish uni again!

Waiver wire is 72 hours. Most rosters are pretty well set right now, so don't read anything into a team not picking him up off waivers. Sometimes, late in the season, teams will pick a player up just so another team can't have them, i.e., Jose Canseco some years back. GMs live in a strange world.

 

 

Bump was just designated for assignment on Monday....that's only 48 hours at the most!

I like this, he can serve well in the pen if Girardi uses him properly. As a #2 or #3 Fireman and as a Long Reliever he's perfect especially considering the stuff some of the pitchers already have. In an ideal world, Kensing and Bump will be in the pen sometime in May or June and doing well.

I like Bump so much because somebody has to counteract half this board's great hate for him. Seriously, he's not a great, or even good player, but guys like Mota, Villone, and Alfonseca, who were expected to be large parts of our bullpen, were the reason we failed. I don't see why Bump gets so much heat when he isn't expected to be a dominant pitcher, he just gets the job done.
