April 10, 200620 yr They could, but they won't. Duke returned a national player of the year and 2 other All-Americans and lost in the Sweet 16 in 2002. It's way too hard. Florida has never had the bullseye on their back and this was a down year nationally in college basketball. They will be a top 10 team (6-10) next year probably.

But saying that they won't win is ignorant. They have just a good a chance as anyone to win. Hey I'm not saying it's a lock. I just think they have a great shot.

They don't have a great shot, but they have just as good a shot as anyone, but that's not saying much. The chances of a team repeating are so ridiculously small, it's probably about as likely as a relatively low seed winning the whole damn thing.
April 10, 200620 yr Author Me: I think the Florida Gators have a great shot at winning next year. You: Well you're a dumbass. Conversation over. (This is to avoid silly back-and-forths regarding a subject to which a solution cannot be finitely achieved)

If they all return, then you are right and they do have a great shot. I don't know how anyone can say a young team returning all of it's primary players who is the defending national champs does not have a great shot. It's not exactly like they barely got through the tournament and got lucky to win it all, they crushed their opponents on their way to the title (with the exception of Georgetown). Their 4 best players are only sophomores and they only had one senior on the roster. They have to be the favorites as of now entering next year assuming the big 3 all return.
