Not just your 10 favorite, who, IYO, are the greatest all around...in ring skills, mic skills, ability to play the crowd, finisher(they can lack in one area as long as the rest of their skills make up for it). Mine, in particular order:

Your list actually looks pretty good. I'd take Steiner out (I don't think he's that good on the mic, and he was only really good as a wrestler for a really short time). I'd probably put 'Taker on the list (as much as I don't like him).

 

If you wanted to go back further, you could put guys like Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race, Bob Backlund, and some other older guys on there, but I haven't seen enough of them to be an expert on them.

I'll do my top five:

 

1. Kurt Angle (the best in-ring skills, funny as hell on the mic, great at devloping character and feuds, helps get people over, unselfish... total package)

 

2. Ric Flair (best mix skills ever, not too shabby in the ring, either)

 

3. Steve Austin (could listen to a 20-minute promo of his everyday)

 

4. The Rock (charisma and mic skills)

 

5. Mick Foley (charisma, fearlessness, mic skills)

The fact that Hogan has only been on one list is sad. I'll break it up into old school and new school, 5 apiece.

 

Old School:

1. Hogan, bar none the BEST at what he did. I don't care that he wasn't the best in-ring, and neither did anyone else. He had a presence and the way he did those sh*tty moves MADE them awesome.

 

2. Macho Man, the best technician/high flyer the WWF ever had. He could bring it in the ring and those promos were awesome. What other voice could make "Oh yeah!" as awesome as it was?

 

3. Ric Flair. 16 time World Champ. More classic matches than anyone alive, methinks (his fueds with Steamboat and Sting are legendary).

 

4. Mr. Perfect. My personal favorite gimmick and the guy was just awesome in-ring.

 

5. Shawn Michaels, y'know it sucks that Shawn is nothing more than a novelty act today and a shell of his former self. He's let his Christian beliefs get in the way of doing anything remotely cool anymore, his matches have been stale. I long for the days of him teaming with Jannetty and fueding with Razor and Bret.

 

Honorary mentions: Bret Hart, I only left him off because his mic skills weren't my favorite and his character was kind of vanilla. I'll watch his matches all day, but that doesn't mean I have to like his gimmick.

 

Million Dollar Man. No reason needed. The guy was an awesome character.

 

Bob Backlund. Made a mediocre finisher good and was the unsung, Ric Flair type of wrestler.

 

Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith (AKA: British Bulldog). No reason needed.

 

Brian Pillman. You could make the case that he fits in the new school category. Whatever. Awesome in-ring talent and charisma the likes of which may never be parallelled in sheer craziness.

 

New School:

 

1. Triple H. Proves time and time again why he's the best. I can't wait for the King of King lyrics to be actually known by the crowd and the bowing to catch on. I don't think there's any other explanation needed.

 

2. Stone Cold Steve Austin. When it comes to classic stuff, I don't know that anyone will have more memorable moments than this guy. Great character, and before he was hurt he was one HELL of a wrestler.

 

3. Kurt Angle. I'm putting him on here for dork Kurt alone, because I can't currently stand him; he's too serious. However, this guy had the best dork gimmick going (the cowboy hat, 'nuff said) and will probably go down as one of the all-time great technicians.

 

4. The Rock. One of my all-time favorites. Didn't get as much credit for his in-ring stuff as his character, but he had a bunch of awesome moves, and even his standard moves were done in such a way that they were done "Rock style" (see: Rock stomp, Rock punches, Rock elbow and, debtedly, the Rock sharpshooter).

 

5. Chris Benoit. Best technical wrestler period. His gimmick is he's a stone cold badass and he pulls it off. He's Austin minus the beer drinking and does what Austin did in a more technically sound way. To appreciate Benoit, you really have to find his Japanese matches and see some of his work as compared to the Dynamite Kid. I could probably write a five page paper on Dynamite and Benoit and their influences.

 

Honorary mentions: Eddie Guerrero. One of the all-time great heels and cheaters and people loved him for it. Plus his match with Lesnar will go down, in my mind, as one of the most emotional victories ever and better than most 'Mania moments.

 

Rey Mysterio: current Rey has lost a step and doesn't have the blazing speed he used to, but he's still one of the all-time great luchadores.

 

Chris Kanyon: I put him on here because I'm sentimental. Guy was one of the WCW's all-time best when WCW didn't have much going for it. He was funny, he could wrestle and he was innovative as hell.

Buckeye- Actually, Guerrero's win over Lesnar was at No Way Out the month before 'Mania. He retained the belt at Mania in a match against Angle.

I think that too sometimes- it's the in-ring celebration with Benoit that gets me to thinking Eddy won it there.

His "aura" and "character" sucks. I could care less if he's good when he's a huge cartoon and I can't believe people take that "ghost" and "deadman" crap seriously. Sorry, it's too ridiculous. I'm all about ridiculous gimmicks and all, but Kane and Undertaker are the definition of bad.

 

For every good match he's had, he's had a "turn the channel, this sucks" moment. Plus, the guy is THE definition of a dickhead when comes to holding back talent. For every guy that he's pushed (mainly Lesnar is the only one I can think of) there's tons who he's held back.

I have to agree with FishFanInPA. Berzerker is one of the top 10 wrestlers and probably the hottest up and coming superstar in the WWE. I believe Virgil is a close second
