April 15, 200620 yr Kobe is an amazing talent. Nobody can carry a team by themselves. When was the last championship team to have only one identifiable stud? You can't base a player's value solely on who he plays with. That being said, I think Kobe puts pressure on himself to take all the shots--and in a given 82 game season, if he was more selfless--I guarantee you that some of his role players could improve. But when he tries to dominate games all the time, it's hard for him to do that. BTW, don't get me started on 'switching Wade with Kobe'. Wade played with Odom in '03 and they had an amazing run once Wade was healthy. I think they would be an absolute dynamic duo if put together again. Does this say something about Kobe's selfishness? I really don't know. But when I saw Wade play with Odom (and mind you, everyone else around them were basically role players), it was a thing of beauty. Kwamie, Brain freaking Cook, Smush Parker, all are having career years this year. That isn't making your role players better? The Heat had more around Wade and Odom then the Lakers do around Odom and Kobe. Rafer Alston, Lamar Odom both had career years around Wade...in his rookie year. What now, fool? Please Odom is almost putting up the exact same numbers this year then he did with Wade. In fact he is shooting better from the field, from 3, and is averaging more assist this year. He averages 2 less points per game, and .5 less rebounds. So I wouldn't call his year with Wade a "career" year. Friend oh friend, at the time it was a career year. For instance, my friend. Dwyane Wade is having a career year. But I guarantee you that next year he'll have ANOTHER career year. And another instance--Kobe is having a career year, Lebron is having a career year. Does this mean they can never have a year better than this year? There you are friend, a simple explanation. Have a nice day, friend. Oh friend. Friend.
