Scooters/mopeds

Featured Replies

I'm looking online for good deals on 50 cc mopeds. I've found some nice deals so far, but I want to make sure I research as well as possible. I know a lot of you must be economical about your gas spending--and I want to get a scooter for next year so I don't have to use my car everywhere around campus (I will be living off campus).

Anyway, if anyone knows a good website to find some info or price comparisons, just let me know. Thanks!

Yeah, you just have to find a local shop. Most, are obviously really good on gas, and depending on duration that you ride it, you can get two weeks of of $30 (if you're using it for recreation, round up).

That being said, I had a friend at tOSU that had one and I used to be able to ride on the back, with my feet hanging off. And it was just damn fun. After every Friday class we'd go to Moe's and get burritos and I just remember flying by people as they saw me hanging on for dear life in what looked to be an unsafe position.

The ones I've seen are anywhere from 80-110 MPG...With something like a 1.5 gallon tank.

We're talking like 4 dollar gas bills.

Of course it takes a few fill ups before you can get such extensive gas mileage...but still, it's amazing to save money.

I will do calculations to see if it's worth it.

I'm really liking this one:

but for anything over 50 ccs, you have to have a motorcyle license I believe.

And MPG isn't as good as others I've seen.

The price is amazing for that type of scooter with as big an engine...

The others I've been looking at are priced at around 899-949 (85% assembled, which is why they aren't overly expensive). I'll probably have to take money out of my stocks, so I want to make the best decision possible.

If anyone has any experience or opinions, let me know!

Come on lets try to keep this serious.

We can find a different thread to go off on Accord on.

Anyone know how tough it is to get a motorcycle license? I've seen some 150 cc bikes i like, but you need to pass the exam for those...
