April 25, 200620 yr AJ has the worst luck. I hope he has a speedy recovery. Not sure if its luck or just not taking care of his arm more. Perhaps its time for him to look into pitching more then throwing super hard. He is turning into Mark Prior. AJ has such a nasty curveball that can make his fastball look even faster. Dial it down a bit and master that curve more. I'm no pitching coach but his mechanics must be screwy. That's likely the reason why he keeps hurting himself. Yeah as you can tell I'm no pitching coach either, thats why i asked.
April 26, 200620 yr An orthopaedic surgeon interviewed by the Toronto Star painted a very bleak picture regarding A.J. Burnett's elbow injury. "Scar tissue is not as strong as the original ligament," Dr. Darrell Ogilvie-Harris said. "When there is a tear of the ligament and scar tissue, this tells us that there is residual weakness from the previous surgical repair. This complicates recovery and increases the risk of re-injury. If he had to undergo surgery again, chances are it would be career-ending." Apr. 26 - 10:18 am et Source: http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentSe...93064&t=TS_Home
