April 26, 200620 yr (to the tune of Billy Joel's 'Piano Man'): It's one o'clock on a Saturday The regular crowd shuffles in There's an old man sitting next to me Who still thinks the Cubbies can win He says, Cubs can you play me a memory I'm not really sure how it goes But it's sad and it's sweet and I know they'd compete If it weren't for the pitching staff woes. Sing us a song for the Cubbies fan sing us a song today Well, they're all in the mood for a victory But a home run would sure be ok Now Dusty Baker is a friend of mine He gets me my tickets for free And he's quick with a joke or to light up your smoke But first place is where he'd rather be He says Derrek, I believe this is killing me As the smile ran away from his face Maybe you could've been the MVP If the Cubbies were still in the race Sing us a song for the Cubbies fan sing us a song tonight Well, they're all in the mood for a victory But a base runner would sure be alright Now Dusty is a hot headed manager Who might just be carrying a knife And he's talking with Prior who's still in denial And probably will be for life And the waitress is practicing politics As the Cub fans slowly get stoned Yes, they're sharing a drink they call listlessness But it's better than drinking alone Sing us a song for the Cubbies fan sing us a song today Well, they're all in the mood for a victory But a base hit would sure be ok
April 26, 200620 yr Cute, some of the lyrics needed to be completely replaced and don't work as it is. First verse is really good, though.
