I see this thread coming... prematurely. So I venture forth, prematurely.

 

If Lowell is back and ready to play, then Conine as DH.

If Lowell not ready, then switch-hitting Banks as DH.

 

Will be interesting to see if McKeon gives Banks some AB's this week.

First, you're right it is premature. But playing along, I would bet Lowell will be ready, in which case Conine is the DH.

 

If by chance, Lowell isn't ready, I'd go with Castro as the DH. Or maybe a Castro/Hollandsworth DH platoon. I don't think it's a sure thing that Banks makes the postseason roster.

Thanks for "playing along." It would be dramatic and exciting to see Castro as DH. I think McKeon will tip his hand this week picking pinch-hitters.

Think Banks will be on the roster because of versatility.

I would go with Todd Hollandsworth so we can have a lefty mixed in the lineup. Holly has been doing great as a pinch hitter and i guess he has been working with his hitting so he should be ready to DH any time.

Please not Banks against Lefties....Banks cannot hit Righty. He is switch hitter but hasnt gotten much sucess batting from that side.
