3 vs Tampa Bay

 

I think we can go 6-3 here (at least). Baltimore is once again struggling with success. They are a very mediocre team (if not worse), and we can take 2/3 from them. The Yankees are reeling (3-7 last 10) and A Rod is flat, Sheff is hurt, etc...However, the mystique of Yankee Stadium may haunt our young guys so you can't really get a feel for how they'll play. I think they could take 2/3 with the way their pitching has performed--but I'd be happy getting 1/3. And then Tampa....well, ya we need to sweep them after what they did to us earlier in the year.

 

So 2 from Baltimore; 1 from New York; 3 from Tampa.

 

That would put us at 35-40, which is starting to look more and more respectable each day.

 

The following 11 games before the All-Star break (3 vs Boston; 4 @ Wash; 4 @ Mets) will be a fairly mixed set. We will be lucky to get 1 from Boston, but Washington has been playing poorly and we are about to pass them--taking 3 of 4 is a fairly decent guesstimate. We COULD take 3/4 from the Mets, but more likely 2/4.

 

So 1 from Boston, 3 from Washington, 2 from the Mets.

 

That would put us at 41-46 by the Break. I can live with that, to be honest. My goal is and remains .500 by the trade deadline (52-52). That would take an 11-6 mark post-all star, which isn't altogether improbable.

 

This is probably entirely inaccurate but it feels good to write it out. I can see us stealing a game from the Mets and/or Yankees, which could put us at 43-44 by the break.

I agree with you in the next 6... Those goals are pretty relaistic actually... Nats are playing good ball as well, hopefully they get cold when we get them..

For the Yanks series we are going to miss Johnson. That might be good. Well, I hope.

boston isnt playing in hitter friendly fenway, so they have to earn their runs in dolphin. Theres no reason why we cant take 2-3 or better from boston. In fact we have a better chance to take 2 from boston than from the yankees in yankee stadium.
