Posted June 20, 200618 yr Anyone have it? I just want to know if you can play with national teams in it. Don't want to have to buy FIFA World Cup 06 to play with national teams.
June 20, 200618 yr i have the world cup version, and from what i've heard, theres no national teams in in Fifa Soccer '06. I love my game, I decided to choose between national and club teams, and I chose national teams. It's how they try and steal your money, make you buy both
June 20, 200618 yr Is it only World Cup qualifying and the cup and stuff? This bums me out cuz I think in non-Cup years you can play as national teams.
June 21, 200618 yr Is it only World Cup qualifying and the cup and stuff? This bums me out cuz I think in non-Cup years you can play as national teams. you can just do friendlies between natl teams, and it has all-continent teams but like Heck said, theres two different games this year
June 21, 200618 yr You can play with national teams, and even set up a world cup like tournament. The only bad thing is that it's the national teams from last world cup I believe (I may be wrong). Many countries in this years world cup aren't in the game. Plus the rosters are outdated.
June 21, 200618 yr Dutch team isn't on there, they only allowed EA the rights for the World Cup game as well. Personally, even though I own the FIFA games, I find Winning 11 to be more satisfying playwise, but you also need to be able to get online to add in your rosters (they don't have rights to teams or players and it fills them in automatically).
June 21, 200618 yr I bought Fifa World Cup 2006, but I don't follow club soccer, only watch the sport every 4 years.. Never had a soccer game before, and it's pretty fun. Doesn't get old like Madden.
June 21, 200618 yr Well, I got World Cup (only one they had) and I'll probably get the club one after my birthday. The two combined are only 10 bucks more than a normal PS2 game, so I don't mind.
June 22, 200618 yr I bought Fifa World Cup 2006, but I don't follow club soccer, only watch the sport every 4 years.. Never had a soccer game before, and it's pretty fun. Doesn't get old like Madden. For real these games dont get old, No cheesy plays that work everytime World cup is about pure skill and strategy . Me and my buddies have been throwin tournaments almost every day for the past 2 weeks 5-10 $ buy in and man there is nothing more exciting than these games.
July 7, 200618 yr You can play with national teams, and even set up a world cup like tournament. The only bad thing is that it's the national teams from last world cup I believe (I may be wrong). Many countries in this years world cup aren't in the game. Plus the rosters are outdated. I have it for Xbox and you can play with national teams through a tournament. Also, the rosters are current as of 8/24/05. I just noticed this when the opening credits are rolling. I heard the World Cup FIFA 06 is even better and am waiting on that from Gamefly.
July 7, 200618 yr I enjoy Club Soccer more than international, so I personally enjoy Fifa 06 over World Cup. The only thing that I have against it, is that during Managerial Mode, they won't allow me to manage Arsenal, because it would be too easy. So I just go with Manchester City(used to be my favorite lower league team, but that was axed when they were promoted.
July 22, 200618 yr I figured out you can manage whatever team you want, but you have to earn it through points. It's almost easier to just build yourself up with a lower team (dare even an MLS team?) to get a bigtime job in Europe.
July 22, 200618 yr Maybe you guys can help me out with somethin....... I have a PS2 but I hardly ever use it. But Id like to get FIFA World Cup............my question is...is it one of those games thats really time consuming or can I throw it in and have fun and slowly work my way up or do I have to be a really advanced PS2 user? Thanks
July 22, 200618 yr No, you don't have to be advanced. It's easy to get the hang of it after a game or two, and the club mode isn't too intricate. The booklet for the game is really thin if you want to look it over, though you most likely won't need to.
July 23, 200618 yr FIFA can be a pretty addicting game. I don't play it everyday, but when I do I usually go all out. I enjoy manager mode, but am still trying to get a hold of everything about it. I've been playing as the Rangers.
