Earths Size in Relation

Featured Replies

Wow, that really puts things in perspective.

Didn't we learn this all in 3rd grade science?

Yuh.

Plus some of the heaviest stuff in the universe are so much smaller than earth it's ridiculous (white dwarf stars). Most of the biggest planets are all just gassy giants. Which means the core of the planet itself is actually small than (in some cases smaller than Earth), but the gassy envelope is so big that it gives the impression that the planet is huge.

I thought Mars was bigger than Earth and Venus. Am I wrong?

Yup, but Mars can still be a habitable planet if we can create a runaway greenhouse effect on Mars.

I believe that's a common misconception.

Earth is the biggest out of the first 4 planets. I have known this since I was like...5?

I think Venus generally might also be closer to Earth than Mars is.

Earth and Venus are comparable in size. Mars is smaller than both. Mercury is obviously the smallest.
