July 19, 200620 yr 1 run losses are always flukey from year to year. When'd we lead the league in one run wins, 2000? It's rarely indicative of quality of team, it's just a fun flukey stat. Others may disagree, but there's no such thing as "knowing how to win" one run games.
July 19, 200620 yr It isnt flukey at all actually. A lot of it has to do with how good a bullpen is. For example, yes d-train blew a 5-1 lead, but kensing blew a 6-5 lead and allowed the other team to go ahead. Who leads the league in one run wins may be a fluke, but when a team loses a lot of them the way the marlins have, its a clear indication of bullpen struggles
July 19, 200620 yr Im really having a problem with this notion that Dontrelle blew a 5-1 lead. He blew a 5-3 lead because without the Bad News Bears play in LF/CF by the Butter Finger Brothers, he gets out of that inning without the 2 runs scored.
