Kooliano...I listen to so much music that if I were to stop "stealing music" it could add up to $100.00 a week....CDs are way overpriced, considering the artists make most of there money from touring anyways.

This really sucks because event though the chances of me getting into a lawsuit are very slim...it makes me feel like if I continue, I'm bound to get screwed.

Anyways, we all got around Napster...Kazaa came along, I downloaded this thing called Earthstation. Supposedly, it keeps all information away from someone that might be trying to track you. Obviously they admitted it wasn't 100%, but they said it would be pretty difficult.

It's only a matter of time before we all move on from KaZaA to another, safer P2P tool.

RIAA really doesn't get it... overpricing gets them into this trouble. What does the common person think, "Why the hell pay $15 when I can get it for free!" Also lots of people like to hear other types of music (like me) not the usual crap the RIAA wants us to hear.

The RIAA should import more music.

thats a web site that lists LEGAL downloads BUT as you can tell there arent many and most of them arent the type of music people want.

and I am not the one who made the stupid rules but i am telling you it is in your best interest to not steal music, i personally dont give a crap about the artists lol but i dont want to be sued for some dumb shite like that.

Das, the program showed on TSS a while back actually is flawed and if THEY wanted to you could still be tracked and sued, just watch out and dont do anything stupid...

then how are they able to get any aol user?

aol ip's change each time you log on.

the deal with kazaa was they were using the user name and then having isp service providers give them the ip info on that person.

with a user name constantly changing it makes it more difficult to a) prove that so and so user is trading multiple files b) much more difficult to even trace that person.

first of all: It's stupid to piss of the customers. It will come back to bite em.

2ndly: I see no problem in downloading music. I'm tryin to download Cutting Crew's "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonite." Do I really have to go buy a Cutting Crew cd just to listen to that song?

If you want us to buy your cds, make cds full of good music. I don't care about supporting artists. I like music. I find music the easiest way possible...so I can listen to it. If the Cutting Crew cd was terrible (I really dont know, but I can imagine), why would I want to buy that sh*t? Talk about ripping people off!

And, I know that if I download a cd or songs off a cd, and I like it, chances are, I'm gonna go buy it (or burn a copy of the cd off someone else...which they cannot track! HAHA!).

Needless to say, I've got 1000s of songs on my computer possibly. And if you PM me, I can give you my screen name. Then I just put u on my buddy list, you put me on yours. You just right click on my screen name and click on "Get File." Find what you want.

Im just wondering...

It must be illegal for the RIAA to do some of this sh-t they are trying to pull....

Putting spyware on files...Tracking IP addresses...It sounds like an invasion of privacy to me. Anyways it still won't stop anyone, just give it some time and ant-RIAA P2P programs will pop up everywhere. There has to be a way to get around it.

It is an invasion of privacy but remember one thing, they have enough money to pay to make it look legal.

LONG LIVE P2P!

LOL this issue is such a crock. The Music industry thinks they know what they are doing but every move the make is stupider than the one before it.

First, I use Kazaa lite, "n***a rigged" as we joke around. No music idiot is touching me.

Second, while the conservatives are in power in Congress, the RIAA will not have its way. Democrats have started to back them but there is no way in hell that Republicans will allow the RIAA to infringe on people's privacy.

These things are illegal. All that has to happen is a nice big class action to shut the industry up.

Bring the Heat.
