Kobe vs. Shaq AGAIN on Christmas Day

Featured Replies

The NBA announced today that the Christmas Day game is going to be.................... Lakers vs. Heat :plain.

People are sick of this Kobe vs. Shaq crap and the two have already moved on and made amends but the NBA keeps shoving it down our throats. Why don't they have the Christmas Day game be Heat vs. Cabs with Wade and LeBron?

Maybe they just want Kobe to look foolish

My grandmother's 80th birthday is December 25th.

I am missing the Heat game AND the Jets game (for which I have tickets)

because LA is a huge TV market, the largest with an NBA team thats not a disaster

plus theyll prob build it up differently now that Shaq and Kobe have made amends...maybe itll be built up as D Wade vs. Kobe

It should be Cleveland at Miami.

Oh well. Why not just throw the Trainwreck Knicks on Christmas against the Pacers for fun.

Let's look at this differently. We have the defending champions versus the most exciting player in the league who could easily break out for 50.

Yeah, it's Shaq vs. Kobe but this is still worth watching on the basketball court.

I think Bulls vs. Heat or Cavs vs. Heat would be infinitely more interesting.

agreed...kobe vs. wade will be the draw for many nba fans over the next however many years

How much more exciting is LeBron than Kobe? I mean, I'd rather watch LeBron but throwing around "infinitley" makes it seem like Kobe is awful.

Bulls? Hmm that'd be kind of fun. They'll be good next year but are people actually calling them title contenders?

Lebron v. Wade is more of a thing. Kobe v. Wade is just a couple of good players going against one another, which we see all the time. There's no real story there, except that they both played with Shaq, but big deal.

But Lebron and Wade are considered by most to be the new face of the NBA. That's what makes that matchup--to me, anyway--way more interesting than Lakers v. Heat. Not infinitely more. But defintely way more. Maybe even way, way more.

Hahaha.

And I totally agree with you guys. I'd rather watch LeBron and Wade any day too.

But I'll still watch the Christmas day game for sure because Kobe vs. Wade and the champs is still a hell of a game.

great. hope they don't have as many commercials for it this year , i stil have the commercials from last year stuck in my head "the NBA on ABC, ABC 1-2-3, the NBA on ABC!"...
