Look's like it could be a solid flick, I'm intrigued by the storyline because of my faith. The trailer is pretty good and I like Swank and Elba.

Still don't know how she went from Million Dollar Baby to Stick it.

Wasn't that the gymnastics movie?

Interview with Swank on The Reaping and some other stuff:

QUINT: The guy that started Ain't It Cool News runs a film festival called BUTT-NUMB-A-THON and he premiered THE GIFT there years ago. We loved that flick and...

HILARY SWANK: Thanks! Thanks a lot!

QUINT: ...it's interesting that you've gone back to the genre picture with THE REAPING.

HILARY SWANK: I love this movie! It's scary and it has a twist that I didn't see coming.

QUINT: That's what I keep hearing. I'll have to wait and see when the flick comes out.

HILARY SWANK: I can't imagine being foiled by a twist. I see them coming. I see them. I literally see them coming a million miles away, so...

QUINT: And this one still got you.

HILARY SWANK: Yes. I was like, "How did I miss that? I didn't ever see that coming!" I went back... "Wait! What happened? How did I miss this?!?"

QUINT: It's not something out of the blue, is it? There are hints pointing to it in the film, right?

HILARY SWANK: If you look deep enough... (smiles)

QUINT: On the panel you were talking a lot about the research you did for your character, especially that subscription to...

HILARY SWANK: The Skeptical Enquirer!

QUINT: What is that exactly?

HILARY SWANK: It's a magazine. The man who created it debunks miracles. For every miracle or myth that you can bring, he'll find a scientific reason why it's not.

QUINT: Did you bring anything specific from that magazine to your role in the film? Or did that fold in with all your other research?

HILARY SWANK: Um, I took it along with the other research I did. It was a part of it. It was definitely an important part of it because they really get into the mind of how to see something scientifically. When she was a missionary, in the beginning, and had a really specific outlook on life... I didn't know there was such a thing (as a miracle debunker), so it was really intriguing.

QUINT: What do you think the audiences are going to get out of the film? What are you most excited for the audience to see?

HILARY SWANK: Um... You know, what? I think there are so many different elements that I can't even touch on how many things they get out of it, but I think that while it's entertaining, you realize that nothing in life is always how it seems. It's always important to really recognize that and be more open, less judgmental. It's really entertaining.

QUINT: You just finished working with DePalma, right?

HILARY SWANK: Yeah.

QUINT: I love Brian DePalma's films...

HILARY SWANK: He's amazing! He's so much fun... He's such a character! He loves actors, he loves the process so much. It was great.

QUINT: They're going to pull us away in a second, but I have to ask... What's your favorite dirty joke?

HILARY SWANK: Um... let's see. This girl likes to take milk baths. The milkman comes and she says, "I'd like to take a milk bath and I need enough milk to take a bath." He says, "Okay... well, would you like the pasteurized?" She goes, "No... just up to my tits will be fine!"

Argh.

Pet peeve: when a movie has a twist, a really good one, you NEVER, EVER mention it in interviews. Mum's the word on twist films until after the release when everyone's talking about it.

I checked Wikipedia, and saw the poster. It looks somewhat like Hilary Swank but I don't see her listed either there, or on IMDB. I'm pretty sure she just looked like the girl who starred.

When I first heard about it, it seemed like a possibly interesting premise, but the previews just make it look so stupid. The plot looks dumb, but the dialogue sounds even worse.

"Are you going to kill my baby?"

"No!"

"Why not?"

"Some folks just don't want to go to heaven."

I'm trying to figure out this movie, since MTV/VH1/Comedy Central keep showing the commercial non stop and I have no idea who the bad guy is. I want to say it's the preacher, but it may be satan. But it may be jesus. What are they going for here?

And it's gonna be the #1 movie in America... I know numerous people who want to see it.. Ugh.

Its R rating might hurt its box office intake.

I wouldn't be surprised if Blades of Glory was no. 1 again.

Grindhouse will probably do better then expected.

Yep, thats it.

I'm usually not attracted to women with horse teeth [Julia Roberts] but I guess I'm too distracted by the rest? She also gets huge hot points for knowing karate!

And now I think we need a Hilary Swank babes thread.

Along with a Missy Peregrym thread for how hot she is, and how much she looked like Hilary Swank in Stick It.
