August 16, 200620 yr did he like run into the wall or a player, or was there no visual reason for the dizzines?
August 16, 200620 yr He was doing that bat spinning game they do inbetween innings at the minor league parks.

August 16, 200620 yr Or I think it was a plot Tony told him to do since everyone is in love with SO TAGUCHI (well not everyone, mainly La Russa).. :: Hurls ::
August 16, 200620 yr Baseball-wise? Well, Jim Edmonds left because of dizziness and blurred vision. About an hour ago he was having an MRI taken of his head. (He was not at the ballpark after the game.) There is concern because it's his head and it would be remiss if the Cardinals did not have concern about post-concussion syndrome. As per the usual, results of the MRI will be available tomorrow. http://www.stltoday.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=383305
August 17, 200620 yr From Joe Strauss, who is on now...(have at it, poachers)... This could be a big deal... At least, Edmonds has a serious post-concussion syndrome... not in lineup tonite...not sure when he will play again... could be diabetes, hypoglycemia...other serious illnesses... checking everything.... team concerned.... ran a battery of tests today, including a vision exam. Edmonds didn't even know -- a day after -- when he came out of the game last night ... he thought it was the second or third inning....can't see very well... had a hard time seeing the ball last night... driving home last night, couldn't see the traffic signs. Edmonds talked to Strauss about 15 minutes ago... says he's really mystified and troubled. --B http://www.stltoday.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=383445 Not all that funny to me
August 17, 200620 yr Which is a little strange because the game in question was when the White Sox were handing it to us and he tried to rob a homer and got a concussion then.. that was like 2 months ago and his July was his best month of the year.. 6/22/06 5:51 PM CT Edmonds left Wednesday night's game against the Chicago White Sox with a slight concussion after crashing into the wall trying to rob Joe Crede of a home run leading off the third inning. "I don't feel very good," Edmonds said after the game. "I'll just go home and go to sleep. I was a little dizzy and I have a headache. I guess that's part of the game. I'll have to shake it off and see how I feel tomorrow." very odd stuff here.. we'll see.. 08/16/2006 7:45 PM ET Notes: Edmonds undergoes tests Cards center fielder might have post-concussion syndrome By Matthew Leach / MLB.com ST. LOUIS -- Whatever Jim Edmonds is dealing with -- and at this point it appears to be post-concussion syndrome -- it is something to be taken seriously. Edmonds, removed from the Cardinals' Tuesday night game against Cincinnati, underwent a series of medical tests on Tuesday and Wednesday in an attempt to narrow down what is causing his discomfort. "I was in the hospital, in the MRI tube last night for an hour," Edmonds said on Wednesday afternoon. "Today I've been to two different places, basically just doing everything. [They] did blood work today just to make sure it wasn't something else -- an infection, all the way down to having low blood sugar, to being a nutritional problem, to being some kind of something else. We're just testing everything we can to see what happens." The most likely scenario, however, is that Edmonds is encountering the effects of post-concussion syndrome. He sustained a concussion on June 21 in Chicago, missing three games. For the past several days, he has experienced symptoms similar to those that bothered him in June. "I've noticed it off and on for a while," Edmonds said. "But I've just really felt bad the last four or five days, just kind of clueless. I started to notice it when I tried to catch two fly balls on Saturday night. One almost came out of my glove and one I almost missed. You probably wouldn't have noticed it on TV, but it didn't feel very normal. That's when I started thinking about it." [More in URL]
August 17, 200620 yr If this was caused by a concussion in June, then I would say it is serious. I am not that familar with post-concussion syndrome but according to the Wikipedia article on it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-concussion_syndrome people can suffer from this for weeks, months or years.
August 17, 200620 yr Mike Matheny's season is over, career in jeopardy due to a concussion.. David Eckstein though not 'medically is feeling the affects noticed by fans (myself and others). He's not doing his job anymore ever since he got a concussion.. his numbers.. his k's.. everything.. Stinks.. if it's anything majorly serious well then.. his career could be jeopardy aswell.. it already is.. he has to have like elbow surgery again this offseason.. that's already known.. then Edmonds contract status and everything going on with the Cards.. who knows?
August 17, 200620 yr did he like run into the wall or a player, or was there no visual reason for the dizzines? No visual reasons. Probably getting the summer flu. Most likely nothing to worry about.
August 17, 200620 yr Interesting. My aunt gets really dizzy sometimes and nobody knows what causes it. Maybe its the same thing.
