August 20, 200619 yr per ESPNews. I like the deal, they gave up two low level prospects, at least if they are the ones I was told. Moyer's struggled in the second half, but I still like this pick up to replace Mathieson, who has been terrible.
August 20, 200619 yr Author I was dying to get Moyer in the 02/03 offseason. It looked like he was coming to play for his hometown team, but ultimately decided against moving his family East. Kind of suprising seeing a loyal Mariner being dumped for essentially two pitchers who as of now don't project.
August 21, 200619 yr First the Phils unload Abreu and Lidle and now they go after Moyer? Are you handing in the towel or going for it? What's more interesting is last year at the trade deadline the Astros had a deal to get Moyer but he blocked it with his no trade clause. He could have gone to the World Series but he said he wanted to stay close to his family. That's fine but now he elects to go to the Phillies who are 2 games under 500.
