After that he was pretty much considered the closer.

Well I think Kensing giving up that walk off home run was because of the incident with Borowski the previous night. I also do remember Herges blowing an April save.

 

However in the end I think the experimentation was minimal at best.

That might be true but it doesn't void my original statement in the slightest.

 

He has been given many opportunities to close since April but has been consistently mediocre as a pitcher if you ignore the save statistic.
