November 2, 200619 yr Same old f***ing Warriors Lakers are better without Kobe...they play like a team, and everyone else plays better when he's not there
November 2, 200619 yr Gotta love a coach who says things the way they are....doesn't sugarcoat, just speaks the truth QUESTION: They’ve played like this before. Is it possible that this is just how these players play? NELSON: Geez, I hope not. God, I don’t know. That’s something we’ll have to evaluate. But we should evaluate that over a period of time. Maybe you’ve already done it, I don’t know. I haven’t. I’m certainly not making excuses, but we’ve had a couple guys who haven’t played for a while. And they were terrible. I like the energy J.R. tried to create, but his game is far from where he wants it to be. And Murphy was just terrible. Other than the rebounding–missed his free throws, missed wide-open lay-ups. His timing has gone south. Maybe I should’ve anticipated that. (Pause.) Dunleavy was a disaster. Didn’t rebound, didn’t guard, didn’t do anything. Baron Davis, as much as he tried to do some things, was a negative. He pounded the ball too much, he didn’t run the break, he didn’t move crisply. Just tons of things. I didn’t like Monta Ellis’ energy. He didn’t really turn it up the way I want him to play until the end of the game. (Another pause.) So anyway, I hope it doesn’t get any worse than this. This is a bad start for us.
